Re: I theorize: 'Stance' a mini 2-way with RS125-4 and Beston RT003C...
Just an FYI the rattle can paint and primer has more thinner then what is necessary with an automotive spray gun. That is one reason it is more important to go finer on the sand paper. When the rattle can primer/ paint dries out there is less material left on the surface allowing scratches to show through. On the plus side less chance to end up with a lot of orange peel to sand out.

Okay- Let's just say for those that know 'what these will look like and be doing in the end', that my plan worked!!!!
Prepare for something special....

Wolf,
These are looking great so far. Beyond solid, and I bet they will sound awesome to boot. Looking forward to seeing the end result!
Also, I see where you mentioned your use of Krylon Fusion paint. It has definitely become my new favorite as well for finishing cabinets. It seems to have a richer color, and lays more flat than other rattle can paint.
Re: I theorize: 'Stance' a mini 2-way with RS125-4 and Beston RT003C...
It turns out that any bypass cap I've tried across the 15 ohm resistor for the tweeter just made them louder on top.
I like them best with just the resistor in series prior HP.
So- Now I'll have to get at that schematic and finish it off!

I think you have the labels for the 5.6uf and the .025mh notch backwards on the rs125 side of the schematic.
Darn- how'd I miss that error?
I'll fix it- thanks!

Just in case someone is wondering what exactly the internal grid looks like, I decided to post an approximate picture.
It's almost to scale. The middle horizontal one is above the halfway point and vice-versa.
The baffle chamfers are a 40* angle from vertical that I cut on the table saw with baffle on the surface. I think the
rear chamfers were 15* from vertical- Be careful cutting those!!!
Hope this clears up any questions,
Wolf

Forgot to add....
I used a bathroom scale (not really accurate method) to weigh pre and post fill, and came out with 15 and 16.5 pounds. I had to weigh myself and subtract so it would read, and I weighed 1# less the second time I did it, so it could be 2.5 pounds within experienced tolerance.
Later,
Wolf
LOL...did you have to pee in the middle of weighing? j/k

EDIT:- The weblink for the kit has changed, so it's been edited here for accuracy.

It's about time someone bundled one of your unique auditory creations into a one-click kit! I'm sure it would have happened before now; But I suppose your speakers tend to be SO unique and creatively constructed cabinet-wise that it may have added just enough complexity to make repeating them a bit more difficult for the average kit builder.
BTW, I loved the sound of these at the MWAF.
Sophomores are still the greatest I think, though.
He has drawn up a more typical cabinet construction for those that don't want to litter-load the panels or use large chamfers.
I bet he would provide a knock down like that if inquired, but I imagine the cost will go up. You likely can get by with much less
than I put into them, but the cabinets may add character to the sound if you don't.
I've not seen a pdf drawn up yet to say much more yet, but I thought I'd inform the masses.
Thanks everyone!

The Sophomores (2nd place, <$200 MWAF 2009) have been entertained as a kit before, but the cost of parts makes them a bit less profitable than something like these. FWIW- Mark and the gang were also really impressed with those when they first heard them back in 2009. While the Sophomores are a fantastic cost of $100 to build as I did and far outperform that number, I do believe that the Stance (3rd place, <$200 MWAF 2012) does a lot of things better than the Sophomores (at ~2.5x the price apparently (kit), and in double the box size). I'm really glad you enjoyed them, Tommy!
....But I suppose your speakers tend to be SO unique and creatively constructed cabinet-wise...
I think that is part of the reason. I have my own methods, and constructions, and nothing I build really looks 'typical' or 'expected' to the eye as far as builds go, IME & IMO. There are other builders that apply here as well. The Stance is one of the more-typical shapes and designs I've done, paint scheme aside. You said it yourself that something I build has an 'air' or 'inkling' that makes your mind say- "that's Wolfy's stuff", even if you don't know yet that I built it. I'm actually quite fond of that point and picture I represent to you and others, and I hope to continue to meet your expectations. I like a challenge in the build, as that is part of the fun. I get to test my skills as I like and achieve something via some means that maybe noone has ever thought of doing before- and for some reason it does work out for me. I attribute what I do to the way my mind works and the way the Lord formed it in the womb, as I don't find my thought patterns to be matched by another very often. I'm just me.
Again- thanks for the compliments and congrats fellas, and sorry for the long-winded reply,
Wolf

This is sweeeet!!! Here's my question... I want to build these for my HT (5.1, so I'll need 2 pair). But, because of placement issues I need a front port; is this possible w/ these?
Also, would you be willing to help me come up w/ a center?
Just for everyone else's info, I heard these and for $200 the sound is AMAZING! Once again, well done Ben! And congrats!
