Thanks, but... meh... these are champagne problems. This is not real strife. Home theaters and speaker building are luxuries.
When I get a chance I'll figure out which component is causing it.
In the meantime, it's not even notieable when content is playing. I'm curious to find some content that has actual silence in it, see if it makes the noise when content is even playing.

Re: Staticy noise and "thup thup" sound in my system
Took a closer look this morning, realized that the sounds in question are only coming from the mains and the sub, not the center channel or surrounds.
Both the mains and sub have amps separate from the receiver, so that's a big clue. Seems like it's not the receiver, so that's a big relief... unless of course the preamp signals from the receiver are the culprit, but seems unlikely.
Perhaps ferrite magnets for the separate amps will fix it...

I think you have a problem with a faulty input transistor or bad ground or damaged cap in the power supply.
I doubt the WiFi is an issue. The difference in signal frequency is on the order of 10^7.

+1 I doubt it is the wifi as well. I have 3 smartphones, two laptops, two tablets, roku in the exercise room, kindle, wireless printer, etc etc..... all connected to wifi. And one of my recievers is a Yamaha and I don't have any issues.
I hope you figure it out and track it down. Stuff like that drives me bonkers.

Clearly the separate amps for the sub and mains are picking something up...
Could be as simple as separating the RCA's that feed said amps from any power lines.

Re: Staticy noise and "thup thup" sound in my system
I have a hum in my system. it goes off when I remove the cable tv cable from the set top box. just unplugging the settop box from wall power socket doesnt fix it.

Re: Staticy noise and "thup thup" sound in my system
cable tv is often the culprit...... but that is typically a 60hz hum. Lunch said he has a 100 hz hum. Maybe it is the cable humming falsetto....?
Plus looks like lunch said he doesn't have cable anymore. hmmmmm....... I am not sure what it could be.
