Unhappy OT: Hope Nobody in AZ is travelling today...

Had 50+ mph winds all morning. Clear blue sky. Tore about 1/3 of my roof off (3 months after I spent $500 recoating it.) I-10 is a nightmare. (Look for dust storm footage tonight). Scary, watching 6 ft pieces of drip moldings fly past the window.

Makes me appreciate what you guys in the plains and midwest must feel like during tornado season. Or the coast people with hurricanes. I guess the snakes and other critters ain't so bad.

Now the fun of insurance, contractors, arguing with the adjuster.... Another $1K for the deductible, then building code "adjustments"

Probably should have opened the garage doors, at least I wouldn't have to sweep the shop.

    Venting over...back to reality.

I remember seeing semis on their sides in New Mexico after winds like that.

Yeah, I saw a few of those too. The best one was a whole trailer load of cooking oil -- in the middle of the monsoon season.

Phoenix is ok today, had some "fun" winds a couple of days ago, but didn't lose anything, so I'm ok, at least....sorry to hear that you got hit that hard, it's never fun. Hope everyone is safe.

Sorry to hear about your roof.
Yeah, here in OK we just had about 3 of those days in a row. Very normal around here. We all start to pucker when they call for 60 to 80 straight line winds. Very hard to drive a suv in those kind of winds. My pool got blown upside down and thrown into my D-tv dish and trashed it.Had a spare luckily.
These are picks of a storm last fall. 1 of about ten trees I lost. Verrrry close to the house.

Crap Lou, I am sorry to hear about your roof.

On the other hand maybe you could just replace the shingles with all the ND90s you have been hoarding, and start "broadcasting" music to the neighborhood

I was on the phone to State Farm while it was happening. At least they got it covered up, now we wait on the adjuster. Always better to be at the front of the queue.

Nick, I don't need to use little drivers , I still have the PA tops I built, and two 500 wpc Peavey IPR-1600's out there! I can broadcast across the valley.

John, been to Edmund. Had a friend who lived there, kind of tornado alley. You guys have bigger b@lls than me. Both my siblings live in California earthquake zones too.

I was part of a contract to do aerial mapping and topography after Mt. St Helens blew her top, also 60 miles from Yellowstone when it burned. My conclusion: driving a hybrid is pi$$ing in the ocean compared to Mother Nature's wrath. One good Krakatoa will drop global temps for years.

Im sorry to hear about the weather in phx lou. Remember the rain in jan of 04? It rained for like a month there in phx. The highway to payson was like the most beautiful drive in the world. I lived in tempe on mcclintock and elliot. Lovinly place to be. Then I moved to west mesa not want i WANTED. I lived there for 3 1/2 yrs from 2004 to 2008 and I have to say it only got bad like 2 times Ive lived there. After moving back to kansas. I got back into it beening windy for days on end were talking up to a week worth of 30 plus mph wind.

Once a year I Have to go downstair and hang on to the metal braces on the wall. About a year ago a tornado missed my house by a mile. I could hear it in the basement as I thought the world was ending. And, the fact that I about p!ssed my pants in thought of loosing everything Ive had. Living is a good feeling!!!

I wish I could just be like you lou. But when you got a 500 acres of wheat growing as we speak you get really stressed about the weather and rain. Rain is a famers friend. So for one guy weather sucks, the next guy is praying for some kind of change in the weather. But none of us like are house or belongs beat to sh!t. I had to recently threw away a bbq grill as the wind flipped it in over end for about a mile from my house out in a field.

So lets just cross are figures and hope mother nature can be good to us this summer!!!
I love Diy audio, because its just me and my ideas and my shop. I can make and mold my ideas and put them to play, its an amazing thing to be able to do!!

Glad to hear nobody was hurt (dogs are OK?). But, sorry you're left with a mess to clean up -- drop me a line if you need any help.

Anybody in agri-business is at the mercy of nature. Farming/ranching is like betting your future on red or black every year. Hats off to you. Tough life.

Everything is OK, the insurance company had somebody here in two hours to do temp repairs. (Lovely blue tarp roof!) Dogs didn't even want to go out there!

Now back to regular life. 14 pigs came out of the brush on our walk this AM. (four babies) Even my rottie, Radar, had the sense to back away. The trailing boar did a big display but left us alone. One gal was running up behind us with a young Lab, I think one of her arms might be an inch longer now!

Compared to a lot of you guys, I think I got it made. Good perspective adjustment.

    I can't hear anything.

Someone must have been trying to break into your house.

I'm still around the corner if you need some emergency labor.

El Paso has been hit pretty hard too. I've been breathing in sand for a couple days now. Wind + dessert = bad. Hope things work out well for you Lou.

Thanks, but the insurance is handling it. (God knows I pay State Farm enough). Yeah these microburst, dust devil phenomena can do some real damage. I'm always amazed when you see those tornado pictures with two houses razed to the foundation and one in between completely intact.

The PA boxes are disassembled for finishing right now, so I can't entertain...
