    Default Iowa DIY 2012?

I remember Doug mentioning it will happen on the weekend of October 19th, but just wondering if any other details have surfaced yet?

This one's only 700 miles for me. That's a bit closer than Chicago and Ft Wayne. Here's to hoping it happens this year!

It is set for Sat. October 20. As of now I will be having an open house on the evening of the 19th. I will start web stuff and the event planning in a couple of months once it slows down at work. This is my busy time of the year.

Well, here is all the preview I have so far...

Still arguing with myself about how to do the edges, whether a big chamfer or a big roundover.

    Looking forward to it

I think the chamfer gives you more options on finishing design/ style. I wanted to use the aluminum plastic laminate on the facets for this design. The facets could also be veneered in mahogany with the base cabinet oak. White facets white black face and body gave a tuxedo look. My current design has morphed since this one. I’m working on using up the Dayton DC-380 15 inch from the tent sale along with some Aura Ns6s

I plan to attend and hope to bring 2 pairs of speakers. I'll try to bring the oak version of the Lydias and the other pair will be my top secret for now iron speaker build.

It's not looking good for me to attend this year. With the new job, baby here by then, and distance; it would be a hard one to pull off.

The HK is only 55 watts per channel but you can make it loud enough so no one wants to be in the room. I love the sound but they are not perfect by any measure.

They look better in the picture than they do in person. I had problems with the finish on the Birch Plywood and gave up on it. I was tired of messing with the finish so I just put them together so I could hear them. If I'm still in love with them in a year I will redo the boxes and make them top shelf.

While I do plan on entering only one pair, I hope to be bringing something else just for fun and possibly setting up in the hotel room.

I've already said I plan on being there in another thread quite some time ago, but just in case that was forgotten, I plan on attending and will bring one pair of speakers.

Who knows for sure, but I might even make it this year. No entry, just to come see you folks and listen to some speakers. I'm just not sure if I will be in country during that time as my vacation is around that time. Just have to wait and see.

    I'm there!

And Junior, I kinda figured out your status about a week or so ago. Babies have a unique way of rearranging life.

BTW, Craig - How's the new one doing?
