    Default series crossover

Has anyone tried the AR series crossover ? Maybe I am missing the obvious, but how would one go about matching the sensitivity between drivers here ?

Here is a very long forum discussion about the pros and cons of series xo's - for your reading pleasure. There are some very knowledeable contributors there as well.

R1 is avoiding phase errors in the bass frequency area - while damping the tweeter too.

Yup, R1 level matches the tweeter. It's best to keep that as high as possible and pick drivers close in SPL to begin with.
