    Default JBL IMP Measurements

Check out the imp of the 15" 2035 woofers. They stay flat at 8 ohms from 500hz all the way up to 5K. I plan to cross to the 2445J at 800hz, which with a 20ohm parallel resistor looks like an 8 ohm load.

Looks like text book values might work?

I hope to start working on the cabinets in June, and hope to finish in the fall. I takes lots of pics as I go.

Even if you get a flat impedance you would also need a flat frequency response for a textbook xo to work. I would also advise against crossing that high.

Textbook? Textbook? I doubt any textbook crossover was designed to work with your 30 pound 4" titanium dome compression driver....unless JBL wrote the book.

If you mean that it should be well behaved, then, yes, I bet that is the case.

What horn/waveguide are you mounting the 2445 on?

I had this odd fantasy of pairing a 2445 (or 2446?) on an 18" SEOS waveguide with an 18" JBL 2242 driver in a 10 or 12 cubic foot box with ~600 Hz XO. Not sure what to call it but "size matters" would seem appropriate. My back hurts just to think of it.

Please post lots of build pics.

I haven't measured freq yet. I don't have the cabinets built yet.

I've read these drivers can be crossed at 500hz, but i'm worried about being so close to fs.

    The JBL 2380a

And yes to "size matters". I might add 18" subs someday and make 4way. I'll also be adding the 2405H on top.
