Thread: PC Speakers

    Default PC Speakers

    Hi all

I am looking for suggestions on a small, low budget pair of PC speakers. So far I have found most go for the OS or Wolf's design. Does anyone have a parts list for Wolf's design? Also, any other suggestions would be appreciated. I am not looking to spend more than $125 on the speakers.

    Thanks!

There are parts listed at the end of the writeup in my blog, since some wanted to know what I recommended. I think they come in under $125 for the pair minus cabinets.

Let me know if I can be of more help,

Take two Aurasound NS3-193-8's, put them in separate ~ 4 liter ported cabinets tuned to ~62-64Hz (1 1/8" PVC drain pipe) and call me in the morning. That'll get you about 50-15,000Hz that'll handle close to 20 watts. I made mine just about as tall as my monitor with the driver near the top and used a front port since they'd be near the wall behind them. I have a good "junk drawer" and spare 1/2" MDF in the shop so my total cost was about $30 for the pair. Buying everything new, I think you can beat $50 by a little. For near-field work with a small amp, they sound surprisingly good for the size and cost.
