These look interesting... (SounDigital amps)
See http://www.soundigital.com.br/produt...ores/sd400-1d/
That's a pretty decent amount of power wrapped up in a small package. 400W RMS into 2 ohms.

I smell Flea Market.
500w RMS at 14.4 with 5000w max.....
fishy.

I'm a bit suspicious of the claim too. It may be designed around much of the same as the new Rockford-Fosgate amps. They use "boosted-rails" in order to hit their ouputs numbers. This maybe a cheap copy of that. The 5000w number is of course marketing hoopla

Easy to foll the masses.
Amps are cheap...A couple of chips, resistors, etc.
POWER SUPPLYS are not. You are only as good as the power you give em.

Avoid. No reputable manufacturer uses the PMPO spec, which is just so much hogwash.

Bill, You have to find a new one. "Hogwash" is getting old.

The RF "boosted-rail" amps use capacitors to temporarily boost the supply voltage to 24V during peak signals. Sort of like Class G/H operation. I have doubts about how long it can sustain such a boost though. The SD amps look like Class D jobs with forced cooling.

Agreed. However Steve Meade has demo'd one of these amps (search You Tube) and he seemed impressed by the size/performance ratio . Even if they can only do 100W, that's still pretty good for something that size.

Yes, I do. I am on a mission to find something as good as ****, ****, or ***.

Steve Meade is impressed by anything he sells.
