Whats up with the DIY Sound Group??
I've been away from DIY specific forums for awhile but I've been routinely checking in at the DIY Sound Group web site and I haven't seen any activity in months, is this project still alive? I've meet a few people that were/are interested in trying DIY and I would like to recommend the DIY Sound Group as a resource if I can.
I know a bit of the back story and that Eric is running it in his free time and not taking much (any?) profit (which is equally awesome and crazy) so I wasn't expecting tons of product roll outs and if it just got to be too much I would certainly understand, though it would be a shame. If this project is still going it would be nice just to see some updates even if they are just future plans, goals, possibilities, ect.

Check the forums at that site.

You're asking this question at an interesting time, because everything is about to bust wide open over there. Erich has posted a bunch of stuff for sale that wasn't a couple months ago. And he's getting more flat packs cut up very soon. It's an exciting time, just keep your eyes peeled.
What kind of builds are you looking for? SEOS12 builds are going to be plentiful in short order.

I might be looking at the Amiga flat pack but I do have the means to do most the wood work myself (just have to barrow a table saw). I was mainly looking at pointing people there who don't have the tools, time, or skill but are still interested in trying the DIY option. I've been fairly active a few other forums promoting the DIY option in the "audio sub forum" and I think the Sound Group is awesome idea and would be a great primer for anyone getting started which was one of the goals if I remember correctly.
I'm very happy to hear its going full steam ahead but I think a new comer is going to get pretty discouraged when they go to page and see the last update was in March, some activity on the site would be great to see and would go a long way drawing in future DIYers.

I think I remember reading that Erich H is looking for some help in updating the DIY Soundgroup website. They certainly are very active.

Those 1 piece seos10 baffles look really cool. I look forward to seeing what comes of those.

Erich really is doing a remarkable job with the limited amount of time he has, I don't think the guy sleeps!
DIYSG does have a lot of products available and will be adding more but it takes some, he actually moves a lot faster than most established company's. I think CSS has been working on there replacement SDX 15" sub for a couple of years already.
I have already built some of his flat packs and there outstanding. The only downside for me if now I don't want to use my table saw anymore.

Re: Whats up with the DIY Sound Group??
Oddly enough, yesterday I was uploading a bunch of new subwoofer kits, SEOS waveguide flat packs, Paul Carmody's Amiga kit and his new speaker called the Hitmakers. I just need to add up the costs and weigh the shipping packages to get final prices. There are some very interesting waveguide speakers in the works right now as well by other forum members.
In the past couple months I've been working on some other audio projects and haven't had time to update the site very much. You should see the small warehouse next to my landscaping business......it's packed full of flat packs and things for near future kits. But the website is usually the last thing I work on because I stink at website design. Plus many people know what's going on behind the scenes already and that the site is about to go through some big changes. The SEOS-12 waveguide took a while and that was one area I was putting a good deal of my time towards. But now that they're here, I can work on other projects much quicker.
The idea behind DIYSoundGroup was to help get things out there that the DIY community started, or to track group buys I was helping with. It just so happens that there's a bunch of things that will be coming out all around the same time.......very soon.
There are quite a few forum members that have stepped up to help design some great upcoming speakers. Final tweaks are being done right now and flat packs getting cut.

Re: Whats up with the DIY Sound Group??
Erich notes on the web site that he has a landscaping business and his prime busy season is from spring to early summer and his real job will impact his voluntary job response .

Re: Whats up with the DIY Sound Group??
Perhaps some other Cincinnati locals would be keen to get involved with helping Erich H with his venture. I know would. Hell I don't even live more than 15 minutes from him.
If he wanted the help, I'm sure he could find it.
