Re: FS in Los Angeles: subwoofer, subwoofer cabinet, JBL LSR-32, KEF bookshelf/center

I know what you mean. Well let me know if you reconsider Tal as I would pay to have them professionally packed and shipped. Possibly a better experience.

    Thanks,
    Rich

Heck... if it sweetens the deal Tal, I'd take the Altec's that need a reconing... I've turned into a vintage speaker junkie as of late. :-)

          Tal-

I'm a pretty experienced guy for packing (I used to sell/project manage contract packaging), though you'll need outer cartons. Wanna come by my place in Tustin, and we can pack up drivers and dork out a bit with hifi? That way you get your stuff gone, and Rich gets the stuff he's looking for.

Rich- for vintage woofers, keep your eyes out for JBL 2213 (not H) or 123A-3. These were used in 4311s and L100s, and are terrific vintage woofers.

Not to derail this too much, but do keep in mind that they're older- AlNiCo can demagnetize, and the adhesives weren't as tough, so their power handling is pretty low at abt 50W- they're tougher than "50W" sounds but still, it's not a ton of zoot, particularly for an EQ'd OB.

                  Edited original post to:

                  add MiniDSP 4x10HD
add Tannoy IWSA500 standalone subwoofer amplifier (500W @ 4 ohms, BASH power supply, $225 firm + shipping)
                  add Keiga 52100 subwoofer plate amplifier (1000W @ 4 ohms), $325 firm + shipping)
remove vintage speakers (all 4 sold locally)

                  Cheers,

Have a coffee table subwoofer (totally stealth) that uses a Dayton Titanic Mk 3 15" driver (http://www.parts-express.com/dayton-...4-ohm--295-420).

Asking $165, local pickup in Los Angeles only as it's bulky and heavy.

Would be perfect with the Tannoy 500 watt amplifier for $225 from a few posts ago, also have a NHT A1 amplifier for $95 (no controls whatsoever, so needs to be fed a filtered input from a HT receiver/active crossover/etc.).

                        Cheers,
                        Tal

                            Nope, used, works perfectly.

                            Thanks,

Decided to keep the Keiga 52100 plate amp, but am selling the Class D Audio CDA-1000 Kit with 600VA transformer that I bought to replace it. Keiga solution with auto-on works fine for me for the two 8 ohm subwoofers I have in parallel. $250 + shipping.

                              Linky:

Description (mine has the 600VA tranny):
Package deal includes 2 of our most popular 250W X 2, or 500W X 1 Class D Power Amplifier, Large Power Supply, 400VA AnTek toroidal transformer, and transformer mounting kit. This is a great combination of components for a complete audiophile quality power amplifier. The power supply included in this kit is capable or running two amplifier modules. With the included components you can build a 500W 8 Ohm stereo amplifier or 4 channel X 250W 4 Ohm or 4 X 125W 8 Ohm.

                              Cheers,
