Nope - I bought it locally from a really nice speaker builder. It had a modest stamped-frame 15" in it which I replaced with the Titanic Mk. 3 which transformed it entirely. Very capable!

Just took some measurements, then ran it through Unibox.
Enclosure is (roughly) 141 liters. Tuning is roughly 32 Hz., and it's a 4" port, so it shouldn't chuff much. Unibox puts it at an 104db @ 500 watts which also HAPPENS to be EXACTLY the 21mm xmax on the driver. So 500 watts is PERFECT for this subwoofer, for a sealed application. As a subwoofer - I'd only run it sealed. If it's to DJ house parties, then ported would make a LOT of thump - Unibox puts it at 117db @ 30 Hz., and that's NOWHERE near xmax.
Again - I'd only run it sealed, as the tuning is too high, IMO. It originally had a VERY humble Goldwood 15" woofer in there, but the enclosure is heavy and fairly well built, so the Titanic I put in there made sense. It is indeed downfiring. Ummm... I have little experience with ported enclosures. This thing would be chuff city anywhere near full volume - definitely could use a 6" port, but there's no room for the additional length.

Hello,
Bought a nice heavy Denon receiver for its 7 channel amplifier to experiment with making passive speakers active via MiniDSP. Then found a really nice Adcom 7 channel amplifier, rendering this Denon receiver superfluous - like so many other things in my life.

25 lbs. !!!

Used for rapid prototyping of crossover points without needing a computer... of course - I've since transitioned to a MiniDSP
0.5 way output is great to ADD a summed mono crossover while keeping a discrete 2 way crossover for the speakers themselves.
Crossover f between 100 Hz. and 3.15 kHz.
4th order Linkwitz-Riley
mono summed subwoofer output fixed at 100 Hz.
Typical great Rane build quality.
XLR inputs/outputs. Have XLR --> RCA adapters that I can throw in.

Updated first/original post: sold the James external subwoofer amplifier to a local buyer. Tannoy IWSA-500 which is essentially the same amp still available, as is everything else.

Added: 2 x NHT W1 dual 12" subwoofers!
Changing my subwoofer setup (for the umpteenth time) to something bulkier and less subtle, though very slightly higher performance (hello diminishing returns!)... so these two are up for sale.
Very well engineered (Ken Kantor for the engineering for NHT), with a sealed-box design for very tight bass reproduction. Requires EQ, and is flat to 26 Hz. with EQ. Many modern home theater receivers have built in EQ (Audyssey, etc.) so that should take care of it.
The NHT are fairly efficient, and so don't require a lot of power (250 watts RMS is recommended for each subwoofer). I have a Tannoy IWSA500 that would probably be perfect for the pair - looking for $195 firm for that, but can work out a package deal.

Pretty cool subs- perfect for someone with good standmounts currently but needing to zoot up the bass. I'd be inclined to snag these to add into my rig for more of a swarm setup but I think I've reached critical mass.Comment
