Measuring THD of audio circuits using line input?

I have OmniMic, have been using it with the measurement mic on my DIY speaker projects. Works great.

But now I want to measure THD and FR in a preamp. Can I substitute a line input for the mic input and measure the output of my circuit, using the test signal from the CD as the input?

There's a very good (but lengthy) thread at diyaudio about using REW to measure distortion. In addition, post #283 shows a circuit that allows you to measure class D amps (i.e. BTL and PBTL) accurately.
