I have a problem with one of the speakers. There seems to be a rattle noise coming from the speaker. The rattle noise is heard when the sound/volume is loud. If I lower the sound/volume, the rattle is less. What would be the cause of the rattle? Could the speaker be blown? Please assist.

I think the name of where you bought it from says it all. High quality speakers don't go for the price that you paid for this.

I have used these speakers on several parties and the most recent being New Years Eve. Please help me. What could cause the speaker to rattle? The rattle noise is a concern as the sound is not clear at high volume. Could you recommed a replacement Woofer. The specification is

The first thing to do is remove the grill and press gently on the woofer cone to check for rubbing.
Next, remove the woofer and check to see if the internal wiring is hitting the woofer cone from behind.
Then, inspect the glue joint between the apex of the cone and the voice coil. Also, look for separation of the spider from the frame.

If the woofer is rubbing or otherwise damaged, call the manufacturer for a replacement. Anything sold here would be too expensive and not match well.

You're going to have to narrow down the cause of the noise, is it one of the drivers, the crossover or some other internal part, or is it the cabinet. This is simple troubleshooting, start by looking for anything obviously broken, loose or burnt, and then begin switching parts 1 at a time with those from another cabinet until you find the source.

For true high quailty you'll be looking at products from companies like QSC, JBL, and EAW to name a few and you'll be spending around $1000/box.

Sorry to say but they're junk. A fairly good fifteen inch driver will cost what this entire speaker costs. Spending two or three times as much for a quality name brand like Yamaha, Peavey, Community Sound etc. is money well invested. At this price cheap junk is all you're going to get, good used gear is the better route if that's all you can afford,

If you push too much bass through a speaker they often are pushed beyond their excursion limits and this typically causes damage to the speaker.

What does your EQ setting look like in the bass region? Also, how much power are you pushing through the speaker?

Are you sure it's the woofer and not the tweeter?

It's funny in a sad way that the specs above and those on the link provided http://www.cheapdjgear.us/EAP_EAP_15D_p/eap-15d.htm are different, one says 500w peak and the other says 700w peak. The 250w rms rating on the link is probably much closer to the systems real long term capacity, However the 109db sensitivity above is a complete joke, there are no 15" woofers that sensitive and I'd say the horn would be lucky to hit that number without a crossover attached. The crossover or most likely lack thereof is a major reason these dirt cheap speakers are so easy to blow, and if you want any reliability with these things that will have to be improved.

I would put my money on a bad glie joint in the panel, or some other loos cabinet part... I had (and a freiend also had) on old set of speakers that the back panel was not glued properly. The sound would stop when you pressed the sides together. I would play it till it rattles and start pressing aand sqeezing things and see if it stops. Then I would pull out the driver. if you have a pair, and only one cabinet is doing it, swap the drivers...

^^ So many budget PA cabinets are built so flimsy. Total lack of any internal bracing.
