What driver complement are you using/planning to use?

Are those custom wooden CD horn flares or are they a standard part of this project?

Paul . . those are a standard part of the plans. You can choose either a straight or melded array of piezos, or build this horn with twin compression drivers . . .

Hi Warren, trust that bike is getting a workout! My buddy and I are using the 3012lf neo and EAW buy out, I think it was a buy out. See pic. Not sure if I'm going to design a crossover or go active. Probably go active. Yes I'm aware that isn't the driver Bill designed the horn for but I'll make sure people know that. Now give me 50 miles ave. speed 19mph. Lol.

Paul, they are Bill's design. I'm not using the recommended tweet so I'll have to design a crossover for it or just go all active. I've said this before, but the amount of time Bill must have put into putting these designs down on paper for people to build boggles my mind. Very good.

What is you impression with the EAW buyout compression driver? How does it compare to metal dome tweeters?

                  Nice project by the way.

Wouldn't orienting the "horns" for the compression drivers that way severely restrict horizontal dispersion?

Exactly the opposite is the case.

Not trying to be argumentive, but what I see is 2 horns that are rotated 90 degrees. From what I see that will give good vertical coverage while limiting horizontal coverage. Is there something I am missing here? I know the cabinet was designed for vertical arraying (stacking or hanging), but what kid of horizontal coverage does that cabinet provide? I personally don't like piezo tweeters even though I know there are some who love them, so I would definitely be inquiring on the compression horn option.

Like every sound source the horizontal dispersion angle of horns is inversely proportional to their width.

Horns that do work better when placed horizontally do so only because of extensive geometry tweaks that force sound waves to do what they do not want to.

If you don't like piezos you've never heard them correctly implemented. That's to be expected, I've never seen them correctly implemented other than in my designs.

Well FWIW - You are not alone; I know numerous in professional sound who have tried modern configurations and weren't satisfied.
Fortunately ( or unfortunately depending on mitigating circumstances ) sound isn't a popularity contest based upon numbers.
