  • New Years Resolutions

Projects for 2014. I hereby resolve:
    • to build new (LIGHTER!) equipment racks from 1/2" and 1/4" plywood
    • to master twin-18 sub design/build (on which I am 0 for 2)
    • to build a twin 12 2-way with neo drivers (the weight thing, again)
    • to build a proper electronics bench (good soldering iron, drawers, LOTS of light!)

    What's on your drawing board?

      Re: New Years Resolutions

I want to build a tapped horn.. the TH18 found in the link will apparently replace a double 18.
I just got my 18sound drivers from loudspeakersplus.com....ordered tuesday morning had them by friday evening! They are beasts! (2) 18lw2400's which will be used in two TH-18 tapped horns, design courtesy of Xoc1 (Thanks again for all the info/effort you put into this!!) Also thanks to Djim...

Also want to build a dual 15+2 midtop but I'm aiming outside the box with a design that looks something like the EAW KF750. I may rethink that after I get a feel for just how big and unwieldy this could be.. maybe make it a dual 12 neo instead.

This past year I had a new years resoultion NOT to build any more subwoofers, and I ended up building 4 of those. And they've become my everyday use box - that hits hard, plays loud and deep (enough) and handles a stupid amount of power. I think you'll like them.

As far as 2014 - the resoultion is already broken. Just got done installing 2 Lab12C in my truck, and my Hornresp has been active for months working on a few new things....

My New Year's Resolution is always the same: to not make any New Year's Resolutions. I can keep it every year, no problem! 100% success rate!

In the meantime, I'm working on attempt #3 to make my version of a 2x15" PPSL pro audio sub as compact as possible without any hint of misalignment. My box builder is ready to misalign me....
