  • Front chamber shape in bass horns

Greetings, I've seen many different shapes of front chambers and have heard talk about "uniform loading" of the driver and such. Does any of this have an effect on sound quality? Say for instance, a square shaped front chamber vs. a truncated cone front chamber.
Any insight or reading links are appreciated.
    Robert.

If by bass horn you mean one used below 100Hz, the shape of the front chamber makes no difference. It will make a difference when the dimensions of the chamber are a significant portion of a wavelength, but that doesn't happen when the shortest wavelength passed is about eleven feet.
