    howdy friends.

im looking for input on what sort of cabs i should build.. i have 4 selenium sws1100's they are in "cubo 18 extended" boxes right now and i have a little trouble getting them to play those low sub bass notes. im pretty good at building stuff. and am looking to build new cabs for these..

Just looking at the PE catalog page it says they need a 10.56 cu ft (net) vented cab for a 37Hz f3, so they're just not designed for high output at 35Hz to begin with. That's not unusual with pro-sound drivers. They trade off low frequency extension for high sensitivity. I'd start from scratch, find a reputable cab design that has the frequency response and output that you're looking for, load it with the drivers that it needs.

      Examining this:

Note the test box is 6.75 cu ft. and the resulting performance ( -10db @30Hz )
There are numerous designs for this Pro driver ( including horns ), but none of them will give extended L.F.

ID:	1161555 im pretty sure this will suffice they're not going to play that low but i should gain a db or 2 over previous configureation and i hope these play a little more musical.

You CAN generate more SPL by adding drivers, but that won't extend the bottom end. Using a "simple" box design program ( WinISD from www.linearteam.org ) - meaning NOT horn loaded, I see that driver in about a 10cf reflex box (tuned to 32Hz) should reach into the mid 30s (but excursion limited to 400-450w) w/about +2dB more output at 40Hz. In a 15cf box (Fb = 28) it can go below 30Hz, but w/even less power handling avail. (down into the 300-350w range), but w/ +2dB more output avail. at 20Hz (same outputs at 30Hz).

Near or exceeding 120dB/1m at Xmax in either case.
