Re: Changing HK audio subs.
Thank you Caleb. I am not sure what subs to use as there is a double set of wires going to four separate connections on the HK sub and they both seem to be carrying a signal.(if any set is removed the sub still works at less volume)The HK sub is 8 ohms 600w and I dont know if I swould need two 8 omhs 12" or 16 ohm.

Re: Changing HK audio subs.
Thank you very much caleb. I would really like to build my own maybe using 12" speakers and make them as them to be as compact as practical and would appreciate any suggestions regarding dimentions, type of or enclosure and speaker. The present HK15"speaker is 600w 8 ohm.or would it be better just buying small subs? I would not really need a big booming bass sound.Mostly I am using a Ketron Audya and a Nord pian

Changing HK audio subs.
Hello everyone. I have just joined this forum and I am looking forward to being part of it. I am not really much of a technical head and I would appreciate any help. I have a HK lucas 1000 with the 15" sub with two 8"+horn satellite speakers. Can anyone please advise me if I could use two smaller subs with the HK power amp instead of the 15" This subwoofer which includes the power amps is very heavy. There is two different feeds going to the HK sub (four wires two + and two -) If this would work would I use one set for one small sub and the other two wires to another sub. I would intend to remove the power amp from the subwoofer box and put into a smaller case. This would be mostly used for keyboards.Thank you.Tags: None
