Nice job! But why such a high tune?"He who fights with monsters should look to it that he himself does not become a monster. And when you gaze long into an abyss the abyss also gazes into you." Friedrich Nietzsche

Nice job on the finish! RS Subs are just soooo....sexy! It's gonna be a tough choice for me when it comes time, the Ultimax Subs aren't hard to look at either.

Looks fantastic, for sure.
Could I pick your brain on the amp a bit? That's the new Crown series that replaced the XLS series. I have the XLS1500 but needed to purchase a ART Cleanbox to get the RCA line level output from my HT amp up to Pro audio levels. I thought I read that the new Crown amps had built in switching for home/pro output built into them, is that true? Also, how do you like the amp in general? I like mine, but honestly I don't use it an awful lot, not as much as I wish I did. Thinking about possibly this amp or the 1500 for a friend's sub build.
Thanks, and nice work on your project, it looks beautiful. Not many folks think to use oil paint.

Thanks TomZ. To answer your question about the line in switching. The new Crown amps have a high and low input sensitivity selection. Normal is 1.4V and High is .775. Default is the High setting that is recommended for RCA plug ins. I believe the .775 V setting gives a slight boost to the signal.
As to how I like the amp, I believe it is well made and the features and programming is excellent. The style is OK, but function and performance is more important. It definitely is doing a great job so far.
