Thanks Gordy, I liked the idea of being able to see the electronics. I wish I could have made my wiring a little more tidy. I gave my mom hers at Christmas dinner today and everybody really liked it. I may have to make a half dozen more.

I really liked me the plexi back. I think a lot of the time there is an elegance to the components we use and they do get their due justice because we spend so much time trying to hide them.

My goal this Christmas was to make all the gifts we would give. I did make them all except for my nephew and a toys for tots gift. Speakers for my Mom and Son. A table for my Daughter and bottle opener for her boyfriend. My wife and I are going on a ski trip for our Christmas gift.

And done! I only took finished pics of the one for my mother because my son came over and I gave him his before I remembered to take pics. I did test both of them after they were done and they sound amazing. Plenty of base for such a small enclosure.

I made the back covers out of 1/8' plexi glass. I used 2 pieces of perforated metal off cuts from another project for a template to drill the holes.. The cover for the darker speaker had a scratch thru the protected coating I did not see before I made it. I'll have to remake it after Christmas.

I put in all the board, drivers, power switch, power and aux in connectors yesterday.

Crossovers installed. The recess for the nuts on the mounting screws are not wide enough to get a socket or nut driver on so I'll have to use a pair of needle nose.

After the 3rd coat of poly set up I started the assembly. The first thing I did was put on the feet then started placement of the boards. I had to hot glue the standoff spacers onto the screws because they kept falling off while I was putting the crossovers in with one hand.

I tested all the electronics. I have one crossover board that has no tweeter output. I think I found a bad trace on the board but should be able to fix it with a jumper wire.

Thanks Gordy. I was so impressed with yours I couldn't think of many changes I wanted to make except to put some of the switches on the front. I wanted to put a source selector switch in also but, I can't find any that look like they will hold up. I still have 2 more cut and ready to be assembled after the holidays. I did have a problem with a few pieces twisting slightly from sitting in the shop so long but, I was able to get most of the twist out with a hand plane. I could not find the parks boards but I did find these on eBay however, now I can't find these boards anymore either. I have one board that does not work. It looks like a bad trace going to one of the coils but, I think I can make it work with a jumper.

Those are sharp looking boxes. You can never go wrong with hardwood. Where did you get the crossover boards those don’t look like the parks boards

Thanks Tomz, I wasn't sure I could pull it off. I have done allot of construction wood work but, nothing like this. Another challenge was that some of the wood had twisted a little from sitting on the shelf for a year.

    Nice job sir!
Hey, it's okay if it takes a year to finish up as long as it comes out looking that good!
I'm trying out some different wood treatments than I'm used to, and hoping for equally good results. Always learning new stuff! That's what makes this hobby fun.

I also finished up the crossovers and got all the other parts together between sanding. I'll hook it all up and test it before time to install. I ordered 16 gauge wire on Amazon that turned out to be too big, so I had to run down and get some 18 gauge locally so I could continue.
