I think since the drivers, terminals and cap are available at PE, you could sell on the classifieds. It's a cool little speaker and a neat kit.

This version is just under 12" tall, 5.125" wide, and just over 4.5" deep. It allows for each pair to be cut from a 24" x 30" piece of 9mm baltic birch and incorporates tabs and slots for the "shelf". It doesn't have holes for binding posts or for the upper driver wires to go through the shelf.

I'm also in the process of building an amp with a 50asx2SE and preamp with volume. One thing to note is that 3e Audio has a fully built amp with DSP built in coming out soon.

Finished these. PC pics on the fritz. Nice clear sound, sub crossover up to 125 hz, as high as i can adjust. I'm not really qualified to give a critical listening test, but I like them. Also punched a hole in one surround, fixed with hot glue. Can I hear a difference?

Glad to hear you got them done, but sorry to hear about the surround. At least it's an inexpensive driver. Did you build the speakers so you could try out different capacitors and phase? Based on the picture above, it looks like you didn't try to rear mount the drivers. Did you pull off the foam gasket? Interested in seeing pics of the final speakers.

I just tossed them together with the 20 uf cap inside. Nola didn't pull the gaskets so I didn't. As I told you, the Aspen cut better but these are a real visual treat with the castellated birch endgrain, almost Escheresque.
And the fenestration, eye catching.Last edited by djg; 05-28-2020, 03:44 PM.

They look great ceiol! I see you printed the TC9 trim rings. What binding posts are those? The full Trio, nice. That woofer needs less than a cubic foot ported to dig deep.
