  • Next build, cjd's Abourious

Probably next spring, it's getting cold in the garage. Joey Butts liquidated his HT and I bought 5 RS150S-8s, one more off Ebay. Three 27TDFC tweeters from the Madison, WI speaker source. New front three for HT. Possible lightweight cabs per current thread.

Received 5 RS150s well packed from Joey Butts, and one from ebay with a dent, which explains my wanted ad in the free classifieds.

I have never done an RS based speaker.

PWR RYD (Craig) sold me two more RS150S-8s. I have cornered the RS150S-8 market.

ICYMI, here is the design. I will be doing 3 sealed cabs, I think.

I heard one of cjd's designs at a diy meet. Thought it was really nice sounding.

I appreciated Joey's creative and effective packing too!

Yes, I still haven't taken them off the baffle boards.

I finally bought material for the cabs. A 2 x 8 veneer sheet won't quite cover, I have some leftover Sapele, so I'll buy a new 2 x 8 sheet of that.

Scratch that, the sapele would be overwhelmingly fancy in my plain living room, I went with mahogany, I have some leftovers also.

So that's about $100 for material for 3 MTM veneered cabs.

Forgot. I need to make a sled to cut these pieces on my tiny table saw.

Pieces cut. 1/2" particle board, baffles are 2 layers of 1/2" MDF. I will brace accordingly, with braces fabricated from sticks, not big pieces with holes. The sled worked great.

First of 6 braces in jig. Jig sized off the rear cab piece. Braces are 3/4" particle board, I had a perfect piece.

                      Nice, neat work, Sir!

It's a shame we have had to go back to particle board but everything is cyclical.

Stock-up on food, fuel, cash and ammo too . . .

Thank you. I like particle board vs MDF in my primitive shop.

These speakers are for the bunker.
