Another OS MTMs build

My brother in law is renovating his basement and asked me to build him 3 pairs of identical speakers. One pair will be vertical on either side of a TV and the other 2 pairs will be located horizontally along a header. After going over several options with him, he really liked the OS MTMs so that's what we settled on. He had a solid cherry dining table from his grandfather that he wanted to use for the front baffles. While this seemed like a great idea, it turned out that the table was solid wood but the top surface was veneered. So this meant no roundovers or bevels. Sides are maple veneer. Anyway, here's the final product and some build pics.

Nicely done. That's some high gloss! It's like a guitar. Did you use lacquer?

The finish is poly but it's wet sanded to 3000 grit and then polished with automotive compounds and waxed. It's a lot of work but I love how the wood looks under the high gloss finish. I do like natural oil finishes to, just depends what you're going for.

Nice! I like the glossy finish. I prefer the Hivi tweeter version also. Not because of a difference in sound but the ease of screwing them in over the press fit Dayton. It's a weird size hole. I made the hole too big once and had to add a sawdust wood glue mixture to fix it.
