Well - they sound quite good!
I was told not to expect much bass but it’s better than I expected. Sounds pretty natural and smooth to me, just not big subwoofer deep.
To test ‘em, I’m using the Cerwin-Vega crossover on the woofer only, as a low-pass filter. The full-range drivers are presently unfiltered.
in case anyone’s curious, these are 48” tall from the floor. Base is 20” wide, top is 10”.

I need to pull the drivers back out and sand everything, then stain and finish with Danish oil.. Just thought I’d listen for a while first.

Don’t know yet. Still have to make and attach legs and a low-pass filter for the woofer. As complete speakers, they’re only 1/2 way done.

    My first open baffle -

My first attempt at building an open baffle. Baffle is cut from an old, oak table top I picked up on the curb. It’s 1-3/4” thick and has a bit of mass.. After they’re fully sanded I’ll give ‘em some stain and a Danish oil finish.
The 12” Cerwin-Vega woofers are also curb finds but I had to re-foam them. Upper drivers are Dayton PS220-8 “full-range”.
Woofer is surface mounted and full-range driver is recessed 1” to line up the voice coils.
Just have the one side pictured; there is a right and left.. ;)
Set the drivers in place to mark the mounting screw holes. I still need to cut legs but think I’ll go with a single that’s centered on the rear of each, extending out about 16” or so..
