My first attempt at building an open baffle. Baffle is cut from an old, oak table top I picked up on the curb. It’s 1-3/4” thick and has a bit of mass.. After they’re fully sanded I’ll give ‘em some stain and a Danish oil finish.
The 12” Cerwin-Vega woofers are also curb finds but I had to re-foam them. Upper drivers are Dayton PS220-8 “full-range”.
Woofer is surface mounted and full-range driver is recessed 1” to line up the voice coils.
Just have the one side pictured; there is a right and left.. ;)
Set the drivers in place to mark the mounting screw holes. I still need to cut legs but think I’ll go with a single that’s centered on the rear of each, extending out about 16” or so..
