Designs with available drivers are mostly at the top (Except TunDars)

Been at it for 10 years. Some of us post a lot, some of us build a lot, some do both.:D A lot of new entrants to the DIY community in that amount of time...

Just curious...where do they all go? sell them or do you wind up laying a piece of plywood over them and make shelves in the basement. Thats my problem, I cant get rid of them...

seriously, they are all great work...

Some were paid builds, some sold for a nominal price. Most have been gifted or bartered for other services of value. (like a brake job for my pickup) Still looking for homes for the KanToos, Tundar's & Cyclops. I donated one pair for a charity raffle. That's why I don't do too much with mega $$$ drivers unless it's a consignment.

All great work, Lou! I love the look of the Cherry on the Azurites. Do you have a favorite?

Dan, in terms of labor & detail, probably 3 of mine = 1 of yours.

The Calliopes would have to be my best & favorite build. (I won't do too many rub to gloss finishes again!) They went to the president of a major eastern university. Most of her decor is Asian mahogany. I think the Shticks are the best bang for the buck I've ever done.

                    Lou,

Great design and build work. I hope some day to be able to veneer as well as you. I have gotten many design ideas from your work. Hope to see more designs from you.

                      Re: LouC Gallery

Lou, just wanted to give a huge thanks to your efforts and skills. I've built a pair of small Topaz (using some old EPI 6.5" 2-way cabinets), tower-style Topaz and a pair of Azurites. Both Topaz designs went to friends as gifts and the Azurites still have a revered place in my main 2-channel system (well, 2.1 as I use my 10" SDVC sub/70 watt plate amp with them). I was able to purchase 4 of the Azurite JBL woofers and 2 Audax tweeters from a past forum member, Greg Cortex two years ago. Many have offered me a nice sum for my Az's, but they have been my fav DIY design of all that I've built, so I politely decline their $$. Granted, most of the builds I've done are more budget oriented, but the Azurites are far above the important SQ attributes of many expensive retail poseurs that show up here for comparisons. Much to my delight, but not so much for the brand-name owners. I wind up with projects to do for those folks, so they do get better SQ in the end. Now I just have to decide who gets the second pair of Azurites! The small Topaz:

                      And the Azurites:

The U3 reminds me of an old set of infinitys I had with an emit-r tweeter and 4" dome mid.
