  • High Quality 2-way DIY

Have you thought about building a great sounding 2-way using a ribbon tweeter? Visit the link below for more details. The project shown in the pic below and at the link utilizes a KLH-17 cabinet. However, any cabinet of about 0.9 cu. ft. volume will do. Just modify the special baffle board to accomodate it. Sonic nirvanna awaits you!

The attached document describes in detail the steps I took to create the KLH-17 Plus, a high quality monitor loudspeaker comprised of an ultra-smooth...

i think you missed the point. Carl is inviting you to check out his project , not asking for help/opinions on ways to go.

If you follow the link, ultimately there's a pdf with complete documentation on ripping down an old KLH cabinet and putting in all new components ( eg Fountek, Hivi).

Seems like it was originally done for a paying customer, but now its a freely avaliable design. I don't think that's violating any rules.

I think directing me to a different site, where I have to sign up to see the pics, and not bothering to post the project write-up here qualifies this as a post which should be in the other part of the forum.

The document is 6 pgs long with lots of pics; making the file size exceeding the limitations of this site. You are welcome to PM me with your direct email address and I'll gladly send it to you.

COPY the text and PASTE in your thread. Put the pics in an album on your PE account and then put them where appropriate in your thread/article. Either that, or make a link to a site where folks don't have to sign up to follow it.

I'm not trying to be a jerk about this, but the whole thing is coming off like a shoddy sales scheme, rather than a fellow DIYer sharing his latest project.

What's your objection to signing up over at AK.org speaker forum? It's just as good, if not better than this one. More members, more threads - in general, more 'action'...
Zilch is 'king of the hill' over there with his e-wave thread.....

I guess, for starters, this one's not filled with people posting 'got'cha' links and trying to sell another site as better than this one. Take your 'more members' and 'action' them up your 'threads'.

                  LOL!!

                  Carl,

It's a little like going into a McDonalds dining room and sitting down with a value meal from Burger King then ordering an apple pie from McDonalds because Burger King doesn't make apple pies......kinda tacky

It's obvious here that some are more skeptical of my motives than they are of my projects which they, apparently, have no interest in and that's okay.

Ya THINK?!?!? You didn't present anything HERE for people to see to get interested in.

I find it hard to believe anyone can be that thick. My guess is you are here as a troll, and I'll have nothing more to do with you and your thread, until you prove otherwise.

...and my guess is that you need to calm down. Let the moderators do their own moderating.

Incidentally, speaking of moderating, isn't making political statements in your signature not entirely kosher?

Sounds fair enuf - just put a little effort to separate the freeware from the potentially not-so-free.

BTW I've built stuff I found on HTguide ("Lineups") without ever knowing the designer also had full blown designs for sale until months after the fact. And the Designer was still nice enough to answer my inane "what-if" questions.
