LINEUP R44 Build

This is my implementation of the Lineup series R44 designed and detailed by Jed

My primary motivation was to quickly put together a system using the Fountek Neo3 ribbon tweeter for use in a home recording studio. Among other speakers I already have are the Zaph SR-71 which I find to be very even and smooth performers. So I was looking for an alternate voice that might be a little more "revealing".

In order to get it done in a matter of weeks instead of months (if i did it myself), I had the raw cabinets built by Nik Brewer.

It is pretty much by the book. I did initially find them a bit too "revealing" in my space, so the only siginficant variation needed was to pad down the tweeter a bit using a suggestion by the designer (change R3 from 20 to 15 ohms ).

While Nik was building the cabs I put the XO together.
Also in the interest of time, I painted only the baffle and Vinyled the rest. I tried the silver thinking it would complement the Titanium Tangbands. But it was a bit too cheesy. I will probably redo it with Black Ash that I also bought.

Here they are in their new home...
I use a 12" / 3 cuft sub, since these don't dig that deep.

(The little Mackies in the middle are fairly pathetic and are serving as boombox simulators)

i've recently been thinking that i might want to try a vinyl wrap on some yet to be determined future project, at some point. could you give a little more detail on your procedure? where did you start the wrap, where did you go from there, where did you make cuts/place seams, what did you use to adhere it to the mdf, etc., etc.?

EDIT: wait a minute, i just realized you're probably talking about the contact paper type vinyl, whereas i was thinking upholstery type vinyl, since thats what i've had on my brain, and the pictures do kind of look upholstery-ish to me. if it is in fact the contact paper type, just ignore my questions above.

yes it was the "contact" type , but just for the record -
