Hi all! I built these a few months back and just got around to taking some pics. I built a sealed Tritrix MTM center channel, sealed Tritrix MT mains, and a Dayton Reference 12" ported sub.
The plans are to move the MT mains to surrounds later on when I built a nicer set of mains (Tritrix TL kit or similar). Enclosures are 3/4" MDF, finished in Band-It Red Oak veneer, with Duplicolor truck bed liner baffles. I used sand-n-sealer on the raw veneer, and then just applied multiple coats of gloss poly, sanding in between coats, and polishing with lemon oil after everything hardened up.
The sub is the RSS315HF-4 in a 3.4 ft3 enclosure with a Dayton 240W amp. I originally had it sealed with 3db of boost at 30Hz on the amp, but wasn't getting as good low-frequency response as I hoped. So I removed the boost from the amp, and ported the box with a 4" Precision Port, tuned to around 22Hz. I had to use a 90deg elbow in the port to make it fit. The port exits through the bottom, and the whole enclosure is up on some bun feet from Lowes, stained with natural wood color Minwax. I also beveled all the edges of the box, which I really like how it turned out, and finished it in the same Duplicolor truck bed coating (3-4 cans approx).
I really like how my home theater sounds now. I have a Pioneer 919AH-K receiver running everything. For now, there's just some cheap Phillips surrounds on the wall, but hopefully that will change soon when I build new mains. At that point, I need to find or build some good wall mounts for those Tritrix MTs also.
Thanks for looking! :D
