Ruinations (SB29 neo tweeter FW168 Woofer)

Attached below are some shots of the Ruinations and a PCD screen shot of the final model now that they are done.

Wolf - for his help with the PCD sims we'd bounced around and a starting point for the 2.5 way crossover to tweak from as well as his blogs on using PCD.

DLR - for hosting DIYNE and providing feedback on adding BBC dip while they were there.

Mzisserson -for providing feedback at DIYNE that was incorporated and verification of the final crossover.

Very nice looking speakers!
What up with the Advent emblem? Also, the square tweeter retainer, was that from a mix-up, repurpose of another baffle or something else?

The Advent emblem will probably be replaced by a Ruination emblem if I can find a local trophy shop that can print a copper placard the same size for the speaker.

The tweeter plate is a bit trickier... The Advent cabs have a black plastic tweeter face plate that might have been able to accept an usher 9950 tweeter if it's face plate was removed. Behind that plate is an oval cutout 4" high x 4.5" wide. So I built a face plate out of 3/4" plywood by first flush mounting the tweeter in the plates and then routing the sides down on the plate until I was able to get it to fit in the cabinets.

We have a 3D printer at work so I may see if I could get a plastic face plate printed without stirring up too much trouble but for now they have the plywood mounting plate.

Great speaker again man, Great job. They look very cool in person too. Sound amazing. Can't go wrong if anyone is looking for a small-ish 2.5 way tower for under $500.

Thanks for the compliments guys they're a bit of a study in doing a design backwards (cabs first) but they came out nice... Now I just need to design a center and build the surrounds for them.
