PM sent.
I forgot something that's probably better out in the forum anyway for future readers, if they are interested:
In hindsight, would you do anything different? Would you double the baffle thickness? I know you had some extra work with drilling the dowels all the way through, but besides that are you happy with the dowel bracing system you used?
Thanks!

These are beautifully constructed. Well done. are the SketchUp files for these anything you'd consider sharing?

Hi
Cool looking speaker, do you have the full set of the external box dimensions?

Re: Carmody Tarkus 3-Way in a one-piece curved cabinet
I was just going through and fixing all the picture links that were broken due to an ISP change, and thought I might as well put up a few new ones of my "remodeled" Tarkus(es). The Bubinga was beautiful but proved to be a little too wild for our house, and I really wanted round-overs on the baffles.
So I ended up stripping off the veneer and re-veneering with maple. Then, rabbeting a 7/8" groove along each curved side of the baffles and backs. From there I inlaid some ripped maple strips, then flush-trimed the strips, and finally rounded them over with a 3/4" bit. After that it was two coats of natural shellac and some wax and buffing.
I still listen to these every day and really like them a lot.
Colin

Sorry if this info has already been posted--I didn't see it listed on the sketch diagrams.
thanks!
I'm liking these speakers more every day. They are just fantastic for big home theater movies like Tron and Star Trek, paired with an IB setup for 10-40Hz. Also pretty good for music, no sub needed.
Thanks for all the positive comments, I really appreciate them. :D
