Wait just a gosh darn second here. I build a wtw design, plus a wtwww design, ported and sealed, and Mine sound like crap, yet magically, they CAN be used in that fashion. Oh I get it, a N00b couldnt possibly build a speaker without the guidence of the "pros"

You just don't know when to quit.

Don showed a proposed design, took measurements, simulated the crossover, asked for advice. . . . .. took advice, changed crossover, asked for advice, took advice, ended up after a lot of hard work with a nice sounding speaker. If take the effort to read the thread you might see that. But I bet that won't happen.

Oh, yeah Don was a noob when he took on the design of the Aurbacs. This was his second.

Darren, go and actually read this thread please. Don's design is well documented and designed. He has actual measurements of the drivers and built them based on those findings and tweaking from there. Did you do any of this? Nope! Before trying to call foul on ANYONE here, go do the home work!

Don I apologize to you for my rant. I have your files on the ns6s and am planning a variation of the maurabacs this summer.

Dude I have tried very hard to help you, be nice to you, and tolerate you. My variation is still a maurabac as son designed, but the enclosure will be a bit different to fit the location they will be in. Unlike that joke of a thread you started. If you would like me to point out the errors with that build, I would be happy to at this point.

Apologizing is not a form of weakness, but of forethought and maturity. I'll let you chew on that for awhile, see if it sinks in.

Not sure what you're trying to say here, but you better start being nicer, or someone will ban you from this board.
We all have made mistakes and had things sound like [email protected] I only managed to make some good sounding designs because
I read all the materials (have you?), asked politely for help when stumped (many times), and received polite and
                expert help in return.

He had you at cupcake I bet...... Sorry for the attempt at humor to dissipate the bad spirit. It never fails to amaze and amuse me when someone decides they can change something or that it models better and they seem to ignore an approach to something that has been actually built, listened to, and tweaked numerous times. To paraphrase a famous writer " a speaker in the listening room is worth two dozen variations on the simulation software. More listening and less talking novices......

Yeah I was planning on doing that when/IF I ever have funds for speaker building again. Let me rephrase that to IF I have those funds sometime this year...

                                Something like 9 1/2 W x 42 H x 14 D will net you about 2 cubic feet after bracing.

The bext tuning I can do is F3 43Hz, Fb 51Hz, using a 3 inch port (I use PVC SCH40)
that is 3 CM (1 1/2 inches) long. (That's with a 2 db bump at about 100 Hz)

One of the problems with using a MTM design this way is that the tweeter will end up a bit low.
It looks like it will be about 33 inches off the floor.
Hi Don, I was finally able to resume my project and started building the boxes. I was initially going to use your dimensions but decided to maximize the plywood that I bought. i ended up with 9.5W X 16D X 42H (gross). If my calculations are correct I should net about 2.7. Will it be too big? Can I get by without a port? or if I do use the port, it should be even shorter right? your port is already pretty short at 1.5" Sorry not very good doing sims.

                                Thanks in advance!
