Re: Au-Rock-o Sub, yeah I've been busy.
I like the angled front baffle edges , it slims down the front profile very nicely!

I used a table saw for the big chamfer and the reveal. And yeah, I modeled the whole thing in sketchup.

Did you sketchup the design before you built?

Re: Au-Rock-o Sub, yeah I've been busy.
That big chamfer looks great.
How did you cut the reveal around the front?
I have a very similar rss265hf/sa240b build in naked mdf that needs a finish. but since I didn't double the back baffle, I can't do the matching back chamfer. I amy not have enough room around the driver either. Hmmm.

Yeah, sorry bout the lack of finished pics on my part :o Glad to see Mark is still enjoying himself :D As you can all see, I eventually decided to go with tall rubber feet, simple and effective. As much as I love this sub, I don't really need it, the Tarkus just handles it's own business when it comes to bass, so I have something bigger planned for later on down the road, but that's another thread for another time.

It looks WAAAY better than that in real life, the flash picked up grain that you just don't see looking at it in room. That groove that Gaelen mentioned is pretty damn groovy.;)

Well, since he never added any finished pics, and it is yours now, you can do it!
How about pictures with the finish and feet/bottom?
Andy.

Update: Gaelen brought this sub to DIYAZ, and we all loved it, of course. Then the sneaky bastige said "How about I leave this here for a while for you to listen to?". Mission accomplished, in two days I negotiated to buy it off him, and now it's MINE!
Bwahahahaha!

Very nice work here. Very solid construction technique. Glad you are pleased with your results. The chamfer was a really nice touch and classed up your build significantly. Let us know when your have some final pics!

I've heard this sub....it sounds every bit as good as it looks. Great design, I wish I'd thought of it. Also, another innovative finish from Gaelen.
Well thought out, and very well executed. I wish I had one, and I may very well build one someday....

Now that is some bracing I can relate to!! Awesome job!!!
Bet that sucker is nice and dead. It is always worth it being overdone. Leaves nothing to wonder.

Gaalen,
I just noticed your build -- back in May I'd just gone through my second foot surgery and wasn't feeling too chipper... In any case, I just wanted to compliment you on a nice job. You do amazing work. Hope it sounds as good as it looks...

Looking forward to pics of the finished sub.
