This is my custom crossover build and it was a challenge because i wanted it to be...Meaning I took unlikely matching speakers and made them work together. So with lots of trial and effort you can make unlikely components work together with a high quality made crossover. This project took me weeks of trial and hard work, so in that case i will not give away my secret numbers. I think the thing you will hate me the most for was i built this for my car audio set up.....ya ya i know but being that im new to the forum give me a chance to post my other projects that are mostly home audio... anyways I will say that with these crossovers the 2-way speakers have smooth, redefined accuracy together and the tonal balance is very very nice. You can hear every instrument along with the fingers dragging along the strings of a guitar. I know most of you hate me for not putting numbers and my graphs response charts for actual visual aid but your just gonna have to trust my word on this one...anyway i want to post pics of the crossover build first and then the last couple of pics will have the speaker components i used....YOU WILL BE SURPRISED OF MY CHOICES! Anyone guess what the woofer is?

Re: LENNOX Custom Crossover Build
Cont'
The color i used for the crossover box is antique brass and for the actual crossover layout board is thin birch covered in Di Noc 3M carbon fiber....I wanted a classic look with a touch of modern style....Kinda reminds me of old school Altec Lansing Floorstanding model when they used same wood color and carbon fiber woofers and mids...

Re: LENNOX Custom Crossover Build
I will give a little detail..... They are crossed at 3500hz, the tweet of course has Zobel to step down db's, the woofer has series notch filter as well because if you know this woofer is wants to peak soon. Anyways let me know what you think and if you could critic my build or suggest things i could have done. Thank you for looking.

Re: LENNOX Custom Crossover Build
I thought when looking at placement for the coils that being that far apart that it would not disturb that magnetic field. I know in the pic they look close but the measurement for the lower little coils was 2-1/4 inches apart. After looking at most crossovers on the market i have seen very concerning spacing issues, but what i have seen in professional crossovers, home and car audio i have nothing to worry about. The crossovers are huge and have alot of room for placement... After testing when finished, there was no audible difference then the time of first testing was done out of the box and there was plenty of spacing at that time. Thank you for your concern and everything was taking into consideration when building these crossovers. I really wanted a presentable looking crossover. I see lots of crossovers that have lots of money in them but no one wants to really showcase what makes the speakers special...... so i decided to take the extra step. I appreciate everyone looking and all comments positive or negative....its what keeps us moving forward.

Re: LENNOX Custom Crossover Build
Thank you MarkL i appreciate the comment. Yes i agree most ppl do not take the extra step to showcase crossovers....I know it depends on the application but still a little extra time on even the smallest things can really make you feel good about a finished project.

Re: LENNOX Custom Crossover Build
Is that a DA175? Looks like a sweet setup, what car are they going into? Any pics of the finished install? It's all too easy these days to just throw an active unit into a car, it's cool to see it done well with passives, props to you.
