Re: Speedsters - My 2nd pair

Well....this is pretty interesting, although I would suspect that if that's a reverse null we are seeing, it should be a much bigger suckout if the polarity is incorrect.

I don't have the time right now to flip my tweeter connection and remeasure.

Yah, I'm really wondering if something changed between the drivers Paul originally designed for and the ones that we got, but 2 nearly identical dips is more than a coincidence. I got my fingers crossed that Paul has some actual acoustic measurements for a 3rd verification before I start tinkering too much.

Did you send him a note about this? I have not seen any real measurements of the Speedster from others either, so now I too am interested.

I just shot him a note - I always feel bad bugging him, he's helped the DIY community so much, I don't want to sound ungrateful

Love the review of the Speedsters and now have the drivers and crossover parts coming my way for a Speedster-build. But... listening to that Youtube-clip that was posted I am starting to already have regrets. Nothing in that clip sounds good, it sounds like a cassette tape with dolby on. What was used when recording that clip? A phone?
If that is the sound to expect I don't even know if it's worth the bother. Do they really sound that bad?

Haha, take it with a grain of salt, I didn't mean for them to be a benchmark. That was taken by a camera phone, with normal mic. Additionally that was before the polarity fix. Additionally it was taken in my workshop, which is all concrete and drywall.
