" To me, the soundstage presentation is more about phase and distortion and less about size. However, when you talk about bass extension, there's no replacement for displacement". Tyger23. 4.2015

very nice. at first, that tweeter seemed a bit fatiguing, but I smoothed it out. that little sb13 really has some nice bass.

Also the Infinity tweeter appears to be quite sensitive. What is the estimated sensitivity of that tweeter? Do you think it can be crossed at 1500 hz as in Infinity Cascade models 3c and 3v?
Can you elaborate your LCR network in the tweeter pass. What is its effect?
without the network, there was a huge peak around 7k. it is very sensitive. would have been better to use it in a mtm.

I didn't see how low it could go. fs is 1600 on one of them, a bit lower on the other.
I did do a distortion measurement and the tweeter looks good where I have it.

digging the white texture Arlis - I guess those are the CNC baffles you talked about.
You're right about the SB13 bass. Pretty amazing, really.

Yes, enough to be enjoyable. I spent a few hours listening to them yesterday. The others are on top of my thin towers in the living room for now.
I have two of the 6.5 .tangband subs and a couple small plate amps so, eventually, these will be in a 2.1 setup.

Nice post , thanks for sharing
Any plans for an MTM ?
I picked up a pair of those Infinity tweeters but they haven't made it off the shelf yet
no, but I bet BDaniels could make some baffles for you. Mine didn't have room for paint spills!
I probably could work up a crossover if needed.

Lowell, they look great! Looking closer at the baffle, you could probably eliminate the LCR notch on the tweeter with some judicious use of felt around the faceplate of the tweeter. I imagine it would smooth out considereably. Some gray felt would not appear out of place (too much anyways) on that baffle. You could trim it to roughly mimic the shape of the SB woofer.
Don't listen to me - I have not sold any $150,000 speakers.

Thanks for the heads up Arlis_ but I think I can do the baffles okay , just the crossover has me stymied .
I bought DATS . the Omnimic and a Galaxy Sound Meter along with Excel but between watching the grandchild , classes , homework and maintaining the estate I haven't made any progress so far.
Right now I'm working on a new birch baffle for some Seas 8 inch full rangers for a 2.8 ft. cabinet for the living room . Simple contour circuit by Seas and an impedance flattening network. My SET amp will like them.
I've got the Infinity tweets in storage for a future project.A pair of the buyout Klipsch Tractrix horns too .
I'd like to find an efficient paper woofer to match these to that will play nice with my tube amp.
Do you think the SB13's are a match for the Peerless 83075's ?
the 830875 has a big breakup kind of low ie distortion. the sb will go higher. I guess if I had a tweeter that would cross low, I would use the 830875.

I tried a 1/2 inch piece around it. It was a little lumpy and this morning it had come off. I also tried a large piece and had a hell of a time cutting it to match. I don't mind the notch so much. The holes do bug me though. I might try some more. I have some light grey as well as dark grey.
