These systems are absolutely beautiful and inspirational! How many years of woodworking do you have under your belt? I ask because I have aspirations of such greatness, but it seems every time I touch sand paper or any cutting tool to wood, I end up having to use loads of filler and.stain to "correct" my mistakes... Lol

Beautiful work . . . This brings together three of my favorite things. Solid walnut, Small Speakers and the NS3. You are likely one of the only people who can directly compare the PC and Sprite speakers on their own. Wolf's uses a large series cap to "assist" with BSC, slightly extend bass extension, and provide a little driver protection for the lower octaves (which I have built and personally think works quite well), and Paul's uses a more traditional full range filter and an extended bass shelf alignment. Obviously their is the difference in bass extension, but how do they compare everywhere else, particularity in the mid-range and mid-bass areas?

Care to elaborate?

Of the two I prefer the Sprite. It's bass is much more athorative. My opinion is that you could possibly skip the subwoofer with the Sprite, but the PC definitely needs a subwoofer. The midrange on the PC can be fatiguing. This is reduced in the Sprite. Highs .....both are poor off axis performers and require forethought in placement.

The terminal cup is an inexpensive spring loaded one. It allows for an extrrnal quick connect to the speaker wire coming from the amp. Exerything inside is soldered.

These Sprite's look great!! What are the dimensions you used because I know they are going to be different from Paul's?

I liked the look of Chris Roemer' "pico neo". So i used thise dimensions and extended the depth to land on Paul's published internal volume(.152 cu ft i think) for his 1/2 material box. The Sprite has a different port dimension than the pico neo, and it also has the filter.

Great sounding little speaker.

The sprite is built to .152 cu ft internal volume.

The pc is 3.75w x 5.5h x 4.5d internal dimensions.(inches)

Its been a good two and a half yesrs since I did this build. The 2.1 lepai was a new item at parts express when I bought them. I set all five systems up and with the bluetooth recievers, bith the lepai and BT recievers stay powered on 24/7. Thats 24/7 for roughly 2-1/2 years! Not a single lepai failure or BT reciever failure. The speaker sets still look and sound great!

OK, I just read through this thread again and I don't think I'm alone in saying this. New rules for you sir- you need to start posting f-stop, shutter, and lens data with your builds! I don't get this turned on by some of the photog forums i read. Your cabinetry and photography skills are stunning. Well done.

Hi Jeff,

Every time I research the ND90-8 or Sprite speaker, your build features right on top and I just love to go through the build process and the pics. Seriously amazing skills with woodworking and camera. Just love it.

I know that the bass of the Sprite is pretty good (having built a few myself with slight tweaks in the filter). I have added tweeters to some of the Sprite builds (just a BSC and L-Pad, HPF on the Tweeter at 9 KHz) and it really opens up the sound and adds a lot of air.

Since you have built both the OS and the Sprite separates, how would you compare these two with regard to bass and overall sound. Also, how much of a difference does adding the Voxel sub make to them.
