  • Your my boy blue. First project

I am Tony, this is my first project. I expressed some interest in building my own set of speakers and JR gave me alot of help with this. I also went to the Iowa DIY event with JR and I was the guy in the front row that was controlling the audio level.

This is just the base coat. I plan to block it and wet sand it later when it is fully cured.
Woofers are the MCM55-2669 Tweeters are the VIFA silk 3/4 ne Crossover is at about 2200 Measurements later

Tony surprised me with this request, and has now seized the hobby. I expect great things from him in the future.

At this exact moment, we are listening to Rammstein and enjoying a Boulevard Wheat or three.
Don't listen to me - I have not sold any $150,000 speakers.

Man does not live by measurements alone, a little music helps.

Couple of things Tony did not mention here... Since this was/is a learning project, when I "finalized" the crossover I deliberately introduced one major flaw and left two areas open for quick optimizing. The major flaw was the tweeters hooked up backwards. This is a quasi 2nd order network, so the tweeters in positive polarity resulted in a broad, very noticeable dip centered on the crossover point. Tony picked it out right away, so we cracked the measurement rig out to show it to him.
