  • M1A1, finally finished...

First of all, thank you Mike Z. for sharing this design. The cabinets are 5/8" MDF and the volume is slightly larger than the original design. Internal dimensions are; 3.75" width x 10.75" height x 8.25" depth for a total volume of about .19 cu.ft. Using 1.5" x 7" PVC port, Fb is approx 58Hz. The cabinets are finished with a couple coats of spray can primer, sanded and sprayed with Rustoleum fine textured finish in dark pewter. The textured finish covers very well and dried quickly. They are quite a bit darker than they appear in the photos.

As for the sound, I find them to be very detailed with good bass. The upper octaves sound clear and crisp. The small tweeters have really good off-axis response. They are indeed good for desktop and easily blow away the Altec Lansing 2.1 (PC) set-up they are replacing.Click image for larger version

Very nice. I like the routing on the vertical edges for the speaker flange.
