  • PE's 299-114

Here's an on-going sub-woofer project with PE's 299-14 $8 buy out woofer; hopefully the drivers will re-appear someday.
This is 4 cell sub-woofer, each cell uses 2 woofers; simply glued two pairs together yesterday.
The middle panel could have been shared by both, if I knew this is where this would ended up.

Some may have a pair of the 299-114 6.5" sub-woofers; that is the basic idea, and makes for a good sub-woofer.

8 drivers is a nice floor shaker for HT. Can always slap another one on the side lol.

Do you have any modeling graphs? Good looking build.

Can fold them also, I think the single fold worked better, however that might be because of the position.

The center line is close to 100" long; btw.

I was lucky with the wool, that was craft-store bought, but not that poly-stuff, which doesn't do much.
They don't sell it now, or the last time I looked.

I have four of these and would like to know more about the one pictured with the graph.

Here's one more folded double, end-to-end.

You'll be surprised if you build one

Nice design, and cool concept. It looks similar to the Jensen Transflex and Wisdom Audio's Regenerative Transmission Line. You should be in the clear on patent issues by now.

                Re: PE's 299-114

Probably need a bit more on dimensions here:

Started with one side as shown 25-3/8" x 20".

All the interior "rips" are 8" , note that the "top & bottom" are 9" rips (typ. cut wider and sand smooth).

So here the latest; took two of the double single fold boxes and just glued em up side x side. Now 18" wide 21" deep 55" tall - weight: very heavy!

A very convincing sub-woofer; with some very nice room pressurization.
