  • OT Planer Stand

I thought I would share my planer stand plans. There are quite a few rotating stands out there, but none seemed sturdy enough.

This table uses 2 inch PVC pipe for the axle/ pivot. The PVC pipe is screwed into the end panels. There are 3/8 inch bolts with wood handles on opposite corners screwed into t-nuts to lock down the table.

The rotating table platform was assembled with the PVC pipe in place. The slight tolerance build up makes it difficult to slide the PVC through the holes after assembly.

You'll see that the table pivot is offset from the center. This allows the planer and chop saw to be at the right height for the support wings. You could just as easily center the pivot and shim the chop saw base.

I've not finished the in-feed and out-feed folding tables/ wings. The plans should give you an idea of the construction.

Hope this gives you a few ideas.

Man does not live by measurements alone, a little music helps.

Hey - that's awesome! It's so hard to find room to put everything in a little garage shop. I wonder if I could do something like this with my benchtop drill press and whatever I get next (maybe a planer). Drillpress might be a little too tall- I'll have to do some measuring
