I finally got everything together on my first speaker build. They are my version of Paul Kittinger's "Marcato" speakers. I havent heard them yet because they are still at my parent's house, but they look great. I cant wait to hook them up in a day or two. I'm sure they will sound great since now I have the correct drivers. Thanks to everyone for answering my questions, especially the stupid ones. And an extra thanks to Paul Kittinger for his help and advise. I really enjoyed this build and I cant wait to start a new project. Mike D.

Re: Finally finished my Marcato wannabes
Those look AWESOME!!! :applause:
One quick question, for your speaker connectors, how did you isolate them from the aluminum? If we all reacted the same way, we'd be predictable, and there's always more than one way to view a situation.
What's true for the group is also true for the individual. It's simple: Overspecialize, and you breed in weakness.
It's slow death.

Re: Finally finished my Marcato wannabes
Thanks everyone. The spikes are not sharp. I rounded the ends when I made them so they would look like spikes. The speaker connections are isolated from the plate with plastic inserts, they are actually made to install in metal PE# 091-624. Mike D.

Re: Finally finished my Marcato wannabes
They look great! Love the combination of drivers and the silver accents.
I would agree about the spikes, though. Even if they're rounded, they'll likely make dimples in your hardwood floors (unless you'll end up putting them on carpet?).
You could put a dime under each spike (and put some gasket tape or foam under each dime). Most spikes come with these, like this set: http://www.parts-express.com/dayton-...4-pcs--240-698
