Yes, yes, I know. You can spell it with or without the "R", however the "R" was what was chosen.
Backstory: A few years back I designed and built an RS based, large presence tower called "The Beasties". I chose not to go with the RS tweeter because I felt it was not a very good timbre match to the RS125 when used as a midrange, so I chose the TB W7-1744S. This match was a seamless match to the RS125's, which were anchored by a RS225 in approximately 1.75ft3 vented.
"The Beasties"

After a warm reception of the design throughout the community, I received many inquires about adding a second RS225. I dabbled but did not have the desire to re-build the Beasties.
After much discussion with Jeff, he came to the conclusion that the speakers he was collection the RS225's for were just not exactly what he was looking for, however wanted a very large presence tower. Thus the monstrous two headed beast Orthrus was born.
These great cabinet renderings were done by a good froend of ours, Dave Griff.... Many thanks to him. It is amazing how they match the final look.

The design was fairly easy, take the Beasties and account for an extra 225. The overall Z stayed 4 ohms, so with a little adjusting to the crossover to compensate for BSC, the sensitivity increase, and better intergration of the crossover points. Here are the sims. I *may* take measurements though not inclined to since it was a very minor adjustment to the design to begin with electrically and the first response I got when Jeff fired them up was "Jesus Almighty!!!!"....

Nothing better than sharing the joy of this hobby with those who love it most...
