Mocking up the electronics. IN order to make sure everything fit right i mocked up where the wires would go and made the wiring harness. This way all the screw holes needed for cable clamps and bus bars would already be fitted making final assembly easier./

I got the caps for the crossovers today. Once I soldered them in and utilized the holes on the bottom of the PCB to inject hot glue.

Finished and ready for sanding sealer and then the clear finished. I started with 150, then 220. Sprayed a good coat of Deft sanding sealer on the box and back plate then 320. 4 coats of Deft clear glossy finish then 320 then a final coat of glossy. I cannot say enough about Deft products. They have the best spray nozzles of any rattle can I have ever used and there finishes just go on smooth. It is hard to screw it up. They are very durable as well.

Final assembly. This took about 3 hours. I took my time and the finish really needed another 24 hours but i was anxious and wanted to get everything in and working.

              Installing the speakers

This was one of my favorite parts. I did not want the box on stilts off the surface it would reside on. So i countersunk the rubber feet. It turned out very well.

This is the only pic i have of the final build. I will take some better one tomorrow. It sounds amazing and after 2 hour of continuous use the speakers really started to smooth out.

Very nice project. Those recessed feet were a great idea.

Is there a Bluetooth receiver tucked in there somewhere?

Yes, it is to the top left of the amp with a black cable clamp holding it in place.

This is one of those times when I'm reminded that suck at woodworking.

Magnificent job. Great build log, as well. This is a project I've wanted to see someone build for a long, long time.

Great looking build. OK, I have seen this a few times.....twisting of the speaker wire. Is there anything to this or just a builders preference to keep them together?

Looks nice, keeps it tidy and reduces EMI. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Twisted_pair
