    Nice!
If dynamite was dangerous, do you think they'd sell it to an idiot like me?

Wow, very cool, it's great to see a diy speaker of this type, very nice work!

          Thanks guys,

I love sharing this project. The woodwork was the hard part-- the panels and electronics interface are simple and easier to build than most people imagine.

The website is hugely rewarding too; especially when I get emails from others who use my site as a guide to build their own ESL's... because I know what the effort and the results mean for them.

I've concluded that it's easier to build a world class ESL than a world class moving coil speaker-- not less work but exquisite results are certain.

As you can see below, the electronics interface is pretty simple:

I've looked at this project a few times. Very admirable!

Sheldon Stokes was a fellow poster over at the former Mad-Bored for a long time, and his design always held a lot of clout with me. I followed his build way back then with the ESL and TL with Seas Excel 18cm midbasses. His webpage was that of good inspiration and his attention to detail was to the point of CDO (alphabetical order, duh!). I miss him being around.

Thank you for mentioning his efforts at the old quad-esl website, and you did a really nice job on your project!

Now that you mention it; I don't recall seeing any recent posts by Sheldon on the DIY Audio Forum either. I wish I had his talent for electronics. He was one of my mentors... we never actually talked but exchanged some emails. I hope he's OK... any idea what happened to him?

He lived in New Mexico at the time, but I hear he moved away and that's the last I knew.
