  • Another OS build

    Finally finished the Overnight Sensations.
First speaker build in about 25-30 years.
Had them to where we could listen to them and left them that way for many months.
    Decided to finish them.
    Nothing too fancy.

Sealed with ZINSSER cover stain oil-base primer.
RUST-OLEUM filler primer. This stuff is nasty. Did a little sanding without a mask got a bad buzz from the dust. Wear a mask.
Valspar hammered finish blue. It's hard to get a really good finish with a rattle can. But they turned out pretty good.
The baffle is RUST-OLEUM Satin Canyon black.
Then the entire speaker shot with 3 coats of RUST-OLEUM Ultra cover semi gloss clear.

Thanks Paul, this is a great sounding speaker.

Now on to the next Paul Carmody design. The OS Tmm.

Looks good! I tested the crossover before I built/finished the cabinets because I knew it would be hard to take them back apart after hearing them. That's the tough part. I'll be looking forward to seeing the OS TMM build

      Thanks.
      I built the crossover twice.
Got it done the first time then saw I would have a hard time removing it if there was a problem.
So shrunk it down, now I can get it out through the woofer opening if needed.

The hammered blue looks good. If you like the original Overnight Sensations, your gonna love the MTM,s. Big sound from a small package
