Here's my first project for the design team posted over in the Project Showcase

I've got a bunch of pictures in the PDF.

The PDF is updated for a typo on the x-o layout. The BOM and schematic are accurate.

I like how this turned out. I wanted a step up from the RS28 and think this has the detail I was looking for. As Pete reminded me it's not a RAAL or Scan 9900.

I can honestly say that's a lot nicer than my first effort!

What made you decide to cross to a ND20 in a horizontal arrangement? Did you try without the ND20 and associated crossover?

I listened to the AMT3-4 without the tweeter and while it had better depth than the RS28, by adding the ND20 there is a added a spark or edge. The ND20 gives me the ability to tailor the response from 10K up, something that can be more difficult with one tweeter. Of course I think it was worthwhile.

The horizontal mounting is because it just looked better.

Great job John, those look very nice (I like the tweeter placement too) and the graph looks like it would be an impressive sounding speaker. Great way to mount the tweeter, will be stealing that for future use.

Are you comparing the sound of the ribbon to the A or F version of the RS28? I've only heard the A, which is why I ask.

Slick! So- I see a 2.0mH in the pictorial layout, and a 0.2mH in the BOM. Which is it? Looks like a 0.2mH in terms of size.

Thanks, that's a typo in the layout drawing. The schematic and BOM are correct. I'll update the PDF and this post.

Are you comparing the sound of the ribbon to the A or F version of the RS28? I've only heard the A, which is why I ask.

Thanks for the nice comments. The veneer is reconstituted rift sawn oak. The grain was not as open as normal oak which prevented filling it with a contrasting color.

Immaculate fit and finish and I love the way the grain of the veneer goes with the pleats in the AMT driver.

Wow, those driver recesses are flawless! Looks good, too. Did you try out any other Lpad values on the tweeter?
