and here it is out in the middle of the room on a stand . looks like just a bit more BSC should do it . sims are showing me just an inductor and resistor change ....

before i re-wire the 2 way i thought i'd take a look at with the XO i designed for the surrounds , which was for on wall placement . on its back in the middle of the floor firing up from about 3ft tweet axis ...

spent the weekend listening to the lil 3 way at loud volume , no fatigue ... this is where i'm at now and likely the final XO .... i was just gonna cut the second 3 way baffle and finish this up , however i think i'm gonna spend a week or 2 working on the 180p/28f and try and make it the best speaker i can . i need to order some caps anyway to clean up the 3 way as its looking like a hot mess rite now !

about ready to wrap this up ... i like the port length at 21" gonna open them up and add the extra length permanently . the last couple of days i have been listening to the lil 3 way , when it gets loud it gets a lil shouty . i am working on trimming the mid and matching the tweet to that ...

with a tropical storm heading at us i've took today off , this shoiuld give some time to work on these . i've been adding length to the port looking for low end . as of now i'm at 1 x 7 x 21 and my box i is around ,4^3 ... if im reading my woofer near-fields right this is giving low 40's and the speaker is sounding much better and full range now ... i also took a near-field of the port , though i'm not really sure of what i'm looking at here ...

made some small tweaks to some of the resistors last night , it is nice and flat . am looking to see if i can tame the 3rd order distortion peak at 2500 a lil . for $45 worth of drivers its not a bad speaker . clarity in the vocals is nice and i am liking how cymbals are sounding . i am how ever a lil disappointed in the low end extension , that goes for the 180P as well so i'm thinking i missed on the box and or slot port ...

Yes, but it will be measured phase. You still need to extract min phase of you want to model your crossovers using that. You can model with measured but min provides more flexibility.

God bless Josh Brunner ! talked to him yesterday and he knew of my frustration and aggravation so today he offered to trace and extract min phase for me ... making these changes now that i have my measurements ...

made some changes last night , definitely think i'm on the right track ... however , all the measurements i took monday are still not being used . i really struggled yesterday with tracing and getting usable files , got frustrated and angry so i went back to the factory curves .... it sounds much better but there is still some work to be done ... measurement was taken in place not out in middle of room so take it for what it is , i just wanted to confirm what i was hearing .
