Veneer is flat cut cherry. Got it from TapeEase for the first time. Good guys.

      necessity is the mother....
After a few times w biscuits, I realized that I needed to be VERY precise or I'd have the
same misalignment problems as with brad nails. A pretty cool aspect of biscuits and miter
joints is that any tiny bit of misalignment becomes an easy fix with a few swipes of 120 sandpaper.

thanks. I was just reading an old post of yours where you said that you mess something
up on every build. Made me feel not so inadequate....

No pictures of this, but I've gotta share.
On one of the boxes, when I was ironing on the veneer, the HeatLock glue on the veneer was not
drying properly - even after 2 hours, there were some white patches on the veneer, and those were
a bit sticky. What I didn't realize what that those white patches would stick to the as if I'd used contact cement.
So the first side goes well, I carefully tip the box on it's back and smooth out the veneer on the baffle - all good.
Iron that down a bit, hit the round over from edge, and carefully lift the box and place the first veneered side down.
Somehow the last side got all warped and buckled - I mean I had big waves in the veneer, and it was sticking to
        the box big time.

So I very carefully, with my hands, started smoothing out some of the ripples, sort of working at an angle to the ripple.
Well, fortune smiled, because I was able to smooth it all down to where the hot iron fixed it all up. Whew!

These were not supposed to be "special", so I reverted back to my early days and painted the back black.
General Finishes Milk Paint applied with a small trim roller came out great.

I knew that I needed to stuff the box to meet the model, so after I cut the driver holes in the baffle,
I cut and stuffed in some Ultratouch denim on the back. the front of the braces had a specific cutout
so all of the woofers could breath easily down to the port on the bottom of the box.

And finally mounted the drivers -actually looks better than I'd imagined.

Ahhh, there's nothin like a baffle full of woofers! The cherry veneer looks great Don! You must be getting close to taking measurements, looking forward to seeing the results. Good Luck!

all those woofers do actually satisfy the design goals of low distortion and extended dynamic range.
One concern during the design phase was bass capabilities, or xmax limitations.

I haven't heard any problems yet, and I've been stressing them with bass heavy tracks at about 95 dB max, maybe 100 dB
There seems to be a quality to how the woofers "load the room" / floor bounce / boundary reinforcement that I really like.
The bass seems much more even than a single woofer. I suspect since the woofers are between 8 inches and 42 inches
off the floor that any boundary bounce is evened out.

It def doesn't sound like a 10 dB bump around 100, I can play jazz or classical and they sound pretty well balanced, but
put on some bass heavy track, and they are surprising.

Assuming I spliced correctly (i eyeballed this in Omnimic), here is an overall FR with port close miked.

I'm not patting myself on the back for this, this project just turned out this way - unexpected.

The OM curves are just what it sounds like, extended and clean. I'm really not hearing an F3 around 70 or so,
as predicted by the Unibox model. More importantly, I"m not hearing any distress with deep bass notes in the
            40s and 30s.

Not bad for a bunch of rejects, eh? Nice woodwork.

I always use Meatloaf's "For Cryin' Out Loud", my Aberdeen proving ground. A little past halfway, there's a whole percussion segment of the orchestra. If the woofer(s) don't muddy up and you can pick out all the instruments they pass. Careful though, volume before that section is somewhat subdued and then rises to a crescendo for the orchestra segment. There's also some nice single note piano prior that's quite revealing.

                Update:
A couple of peeps seem to have stashed boxes of these Peerless buyouts, and I now realize that I never posted the crossover.

First off, I've rotated these to the living room, and have been listening to them every day.
Love 'em!. Seemingly unlimited clean output, bass seems to extend very deep (turned off my sub).
We enjoyed Arrival recently, with all of the wonderful bass, roars, and subsonics.
Even Mozart's Requiem sounds beautiful and clear.
                Here is the final crossover:

                            Hello

These look very impressive indeed, beautiful job; and they would put out a big sound!

What would be the system impedance for these speakers, please? Not knowing anything about electronics, it seems that three of the woofers are connected in series, and three in parallel, is that right? Therefore, would the nominal impedance be 8 ohms?

                            Thank you

                                Geoff -

The impedance load is rather benign, and can be considered as an 8 ohm design
Minimum impedance is at 33Hz, 6.4R, 7 degrees

                                Overall impedance graph:
