TW034 is a favourite of Troels Gravesen. He has some info on his site about it, including some modifications:

I had considered it for an upcoming project, but considering the price for what you get, I went another direction. I felt the lacking rear chamber limit the low end that you can get out of the TW034, which defeats the purpose of the large surface area to some extent. I also felt for the price it should have a copper cap on the motor. On the other hand its one of the only 34mm tweeters available.

You may also consider Morel or Wavecor, both make some 30mm tweeter models. If you have deep pockets there is also the Scan-Speak D3806.

Question - was there a significant version change? These are listed at Madisound for $72 each, but show up on eBay periodically for more money than that, often described as original or NOS.

Any differences in versions? Is there a field spotters guide to help identify which version a given sample is?

I do not know if there were changes, but I can tell you that people often charge and/or pay too much for products on eBay compared to other outlets in my experience selling on eBay. If there have been no changes or if it is discontinued, that may explain the price difference.
